Introduction:
The study of the Genealogy is very remote, since the biblical times and, over the years that followed by, this study was gaining more supporters and developing-until the present days with the creation of centers of History of the Family, spread over several countries of the world. Genealogy is the study of the origin of households is not simply the count of members of a family, but a whole which involves the search social history of peoples in its various aspects, this way, it falls in our view,as a specialty of Social Sciences.
Our line of research in the field of Genealogy is based on the triad, Iberian Peninsula, Africa and South America in particular Brazil, where the effects this triad tend to converge due to historical facts that involve these crops, in its various aspects, since the oppression of man on man until the colonization.
In Brazil we have great genealogistas and serious institutions to deal with this "Science", with a great difference that is, the variety of peoples and cultures, which in several moments if interlaced generating good part of the Brazilian population and that Europeans know very through the biotypes and cultural influence reflected in language, cuisine, musicality, religion among others. Sometimes interlacing is denied with subtle tricks, but this our page is available for this tool of the internet, is not to enter the aspects of deep and obscure racial issues in Brazil and yes, generate contact information about the stories of the family mentioned with any relatives in all parts of the world.

The Reference

Our reference of Rodriguez is EMILIA RODRIGUES(Z)  who lived in Sergipe State and Bahia State in the Brazil, it was a hang out of the returnees from Cuba to Nigeria and Benin. They spoke Spanish peculiarity that has always been emphasized by the family. We know that a large number of returnees from Cuba lived in Lagos another number that we have emphasis as the quantification lived in Ouidah and Porto Novo. Both Cuban and Brazilians were part of the community Agudá and the two groups still as part of a social whole expressed in Portuguese in the case of Brazilian and Spanish in the case of Cubans.
Among the different situations involving the removal of Africans in Cuba for the Gulf of Benin we highlight a quotation from a letter from Consul English Benjamin Campbell in June 18, 1854,namely:
"By the last "Bellhop" arrived two families from Havana, emancipated with their own efforts. There were about 200 households that have means to pay for air tickets and which are desirous to come. These people have difficulties in view of extortion that are the victims to obtain permission.
Couldn't the Consul of His Majesty intervene to facilitate the emigration to Lagos? The insert these African emancipated from Brazil and from Cuba to the population of Lagos is very desirable, because with their working habits and with their manners civilised, form a counterbalance the dross of the former population the trafficking of slaves this city, that remain separated by virtue of old hatreds and animosities."
In July 6, 1857,the English Consul reports the authorisation of King Docemo son of Akitoye or Akintoye, without charging the heavy taxes, authorised the immigration of forty heads of families in Brazil and Thirty in Cuba.

The Rodrigues da Silva and other lineage

In the Republic of Benin are numerous and are names such as: João Rodrigues da Silva, Jorge José Rodrigues da Silva, Firminiano Rodrigues da Silva (was born in Bahia) José Honório Rodrigues da Silva (appears sometimes as Honório Rodrigues) Francisco Rodrigues da Silva, Faustin Amzath Kamar Dine da Silva, Urbain Elísio Abdou Karin da Silva
We do not know the chronology genealógica of these. Professor Robin Law mentions in his book one Francisco Xavier Rodrigues da Silva as being a Journal of the strong active Portuguese 1805-1806. Possibly relative José Rodrigues da Silva, that Pierre Verger mentions in his book and whose chronology is (1712-1791).
The connection of Rodrigues da Silva extends to Nigeria, the following announcement: Roman Catholic Church, in December 8, 1890 ,held a marriage of Mr Ignácio Pinto with Mrs.Ângela Rodrigues da Silva, daughter of Mr Francisco Rodrigues da Silva.
Francisco Rodrigues da Silva in question leads us to believe that this is the son of Firminiano Rodrigues da Silva born in Agouê in the Republic of Benin.
As mentioned above but previously, in Nigeria had the Rodriguez that were repatriated of Cuba and also the Rodrigues descendants of Jacinto Joaquim Rodrigues, that we do not know whether it has any connection with the Rodrigues da Silva. It is known that this Jacinto also trades with Cuba.
In the references of repatriation and return trips and return the Gulf of Benin, highlight a topic that Pierre Verger writes in his book flux and reflux, based on documentation in the period 1810-1851, which presents the nominal list of Galera Sâo Benedito which mentions the name of Jozé Rodriguez (publisher of the book),black freedman, as one of the passengers who came in the said Galera to Bahia coming from the city of Ouidah in June 18, 1830. This boat also brought two Spanish,José de Uraga and Francisco Guerra. The Spaniards who lived in Ouidah traded with Cuba ,thus Jacinto Joaquim Rodrigues, before the registration of the printing press with the name of Jozé Rodriguez,we believe he was the one that was repatriated from Cuba, who later came to Bahia.
Other lineage Rodriguez, is in northern Benin and, according to the Genealogist Roberto Llorens Reig, which was Consul of Spain in that country, these Rodriguez are from pilgrimages to Mecca and displacement of the army of Djuder Pacha.
According to historical records, in October 1590 an army speaking Castellano composed of 4,000  Grenadines, 500 Europeans, 60 Christians, 1500 Arabian Knights
and 1000 Auxiliary camel riders with 800 Camels carrying provisions  and war material. They left Marrakech and crossed the desert" ... In mid-1600 they arrived in Morocco 300.000Mouriscos Spaniards who were expelled from the Realms of Valencia, Aragon and Castile Mallorca.
Another instance was the army chiefs of Pasha Djuder that during the time of conquest of the territory of Timbuktu, married princesses Dynasty Shongai and plebeian soldiers with the same people, thus forming the caste of the "Arma" that controlled the whole territory of curve of the Niger until 1737 years when they were beaten by the Tuaregs.  Castellano was spoken in Timbuktu until the nineteenth century, before the arrival of the French and today there are approximately 10,000 families who have and often use many words in castellano in Timbuktu as well as the branch of "Arma people" in northern Benin.
Even in relation to Rodriguez of northern Benin, we must consider the history of the  Spanish presence on the coast of Mauritania and Morocco , in reference to the agreement countersigned by Portugal and Spain in 1509 that gives the right to this presence, which has also been strengthened with the expulsion of Moors and Jews in large scale from Spain, of which thousands went to Morocco and border countries and spreading to some countries of West Africa through the important trade route established in Sahara as mentioned in the Rebbe Mordecai Abi Serour that used to travel constantly to Timbuktu and have been proved also in the manuscripts of Timbuktu according to Professor Ishmael Haidara of Mali.
In this historic context and related to Rodriguez, we highlight the work "Los Moriscos of Villarrubia de Los Ojos, centuries XV-XVIIII " of  Professor John Trevor Dadson that talks about the expulsion of Moors, and the reports on the existence of a Clan Rodriguez Moorish expelled from Villarrubia situated in Castilla La Mancha border region of Andalusia.

Basead in the existing documentation, spanish searching make a estimate of the presence of 300.000 Moorishes and 150.000 Jews spread in Algeria,Tunisia,Marocco and others contries between 1609 and 1614.

As we said at the beginning of our text, the Genealogy is more than the counting of persons, is a historical-social study. All Rodrigues who has any connection with the families mentioned here send their comments.
